Rodents, just like us, prefer the warm indoors during winter. And why not? Even still, no one wants to share their home with mice or rats! They carry diseases and are quite the nuisance. They also can do some serious damage to insulation, electrical wiring, plumbing and other structural areas of the home
A rat or mouse can cause serious damage to all kinds of structures if they are allowed to get to them. Rodents have caused damage to homes, apartments, hotels, office complexes, businesses, facilities, food processing facilities, public utility operations, farm and feed buildings, and other structures.
In an urban setting, rodents cause the most damage to older and inner-city buildings and utilities that are in poor conditions. Rats or mice breed very often. An infestation can get out of control very easily if not properly taken care of. The first steps for rat control are sanitation, inspection and exclusion.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Exclusion is also an important rodent control technique. It gets rid of rats by making it very difficult for them to enter the home or structure. Rats are much easier to exclude then mice, mainly because of size. A mouse can enter an opening as small as 3/8 inches wide. Any opening that is greater than ¼” needs to be sealed to exclude mice.
