COMMON SPIDERS YOU MIGHT SEE IN PHOENIX

Whether we like it or not, Spiders are everywhere…..and are some of the sneakiest pests you will find in your phoenix home! 

Spiders are nocturnal, meaning they come out at night after they have been hiding all day long in a crack , crevice, garage, yard, boxes, or any other clutter they have made their home. 

Because the desert has the temperatures it does, it makes it a very comfortable home for spiders. 

 

The most common spiders you may see in phoenix include black widows, brown recluse, tarantula, and wolf spider.  while some of these can be dangerous if you are bitten by them—other’s just get a really bad reputation from urban legends.

1.       black widow:  Very popular spider in the area.  out of the 39 species of black widows, 22 of them call Arizona home.  Their webs are strong and their venom can effect the nervous system of humans---but is not likely fatal. 

2.      Brown Recluse:  Also called the fiddle-back/violin.  They get their name from the brown colored shape on their backs.  The species most common in the area are called Sonoran brown or Majave brown.  if you see one, leave it alone.  they are among the most deadliest spiders in the world.

3.      Crab spider:  while their bite can be felt, other symptoms are not likely.  these guys love trees and shrubs.  they do not spin webs, instead, they like to overpower their prey. 

4.      black and yellow garden spider:These spiders are colored boldly in black and yellow and are found mostly in orchards and gardens.  if you find one of these guys around your roses or tomatoes, it most likely will not bite you.  if so, the reaction will be very mild.  AZ Phoenix Best Pest Control Company
