Bee Removal is Better for YOU!
When we provide a bee service, we remove the hive with the queen and relocate them so they continue to thrive and not be a threat to people. The hive should become inactive almost immediately, with the exception of a few worker bees that were out of the hive while we were removing it. When we do a bee removal in a yard from a tree it is fairly simple to remove the hive and capture the queen for relocation.
When the hive is in the wall of your home, there will be a honey comb in the wall void at the site where we will be removing the bees and we will need to cut an access hole in the stucco to successfully remove them. We do not repair the access opening as part of our service. Often, it takes someone with a construction background to repair the access opening. We recommend you do this, since a honey comb in the wall is likely to attract new bees back in the same location year after year.
It is necessary to remove the comb, especially if the hive is large and has been established for awhile. The bees fan the honey to keep it cool. Once the bees are no longer in the hive, the honey can melt and may start to damage an interior wall, and even cause mold issues. It also becomes a feeding ground for other pests like roaches and ants. Over time the honey can become rancid in the wall void and begin to smell. If the comb is easily accessible, or if you make arrangements for the comb to be accessible, and want a professional to remove the honey comb, we can do it for a minimal service charge.
The greater benefit is not only to reduce the likely hood of another bee colony moving in - it also to protects your home from damage from melting honey - and the greatest benefit - is you save a bee colony, it will save you. Bees are pollinating plants and are contributing to crop success so we have food.
