How Do Carpenter Bees Appear?
When you have unfinished or weathered wood it will attract the robust, black and yellow carpenter bees. They do not eat the wood, but they excavate tunnels to use as nests. This usually happens in the eaves of homes, decks, siding, fascia boards or porches. Carpenter Bees Phoenix AZ
Carpenter Bee adults use their nests over the winter time and will reemerge in the spring. If the bees are left alone, the pests may continue to use and expand the same tunnels or find new ones.
While most of the time harmless, carpenter bees can increase the number of nests over years, causing major damage to wood. They also can stain things with their feces.
When carpenter bees suddenly appear and are crawling out of the wood, it can frighten people. The females can sting, but only will do that if bothered. Males seems aggressive as they fly around people and pets, but a male bee does not have a stinger. Carpenter Bees Phoenix AZ
