Behavior, Diet & Habits
They love to build their nests within hollow logs, tree holes, under piles of stones or logs. Mostly seen in prairies or rural/bushy or wooded areas. They will avoid humans if they live indoors, preferring attics, basements or crawl spaces.
Winter Activity
During winter, deer mice enter domestic spaces to look for food and warmth. Their nests will be constructed with fur, weeds, seed and paper. They can be sluggish during cold months but they do not hibernate.
They will hoard food supplies and still actively search for food near their nesting area. Mesa AZ Pest Control Company
